Following my graduation at the Hassan II Medical School in Casablanca, I was probably the first graduate from a Moroccan Medical school to take on a postgraduate medical training in the United Kingdom. Following training in Emergency Medicine in London and Scotland, I pursued Anaesthesia training at Oxford University Hospitals, where I obtained Certificate of Completion of Training and became a Hospital Consultant in NHS. As I had huge interest in healthcare management and patient improvement projects, I studied for Master’s in Leadership and Management in Healthcare at Oxford Brooks University.
I have been practising general anaesthesia for more than 22 years and I have developed wide experience in all surgical specialties. I was clinical lead for pre-operative assessment and peri-operative medicine. As NHS Clinical Director, I led on many improvement patient care projects. I obtained 4 NHS Excellence Awards for my contribution in Healthcare Leadership, Management, research, and Education. I also held many leadership and management positions and overseen many projects that improve patients care. I published more that 18 peer-reviewed papers and presented at many national and international meetings.
At the independent practice, I have full practising privileges at internationally renowned hospitals such as King Edward VII Hospital, the London Clinic, HCA Hospitals, and the Weymouth Clinic.
I am Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists and member of the British Medical Association.
I am also founder and CEO of For Better Health, a specialised Healthcare company that supports healthcare professional to deliver safe and quality care to patients in North and West Africa through consulting, training, and innovative IT solutions.
